Yes. Every treatment starts with a consultation so I can understand what you’d like, check your medical history and make sure the treatment is safe and suitable. Anti-wrinkle treatments are prescription-only medicines, so a face-to-face consultation with a prescriber is required by law.
I will. I’m a registered nurse with 20 years’ experience and an NMC independent nurse prescriber. You’ll see me at every appointment, from consultation to review.
I practise from Emerald Medical Aesthetics in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, a clinic regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS). Clients travel from within about 20 miles, including Dalkeith, Lasswade, Penicuik and Edinburgh.
Most clients describe a small scratch or pinch. Many fillers contain a local anaesthetic, and I can use numbing cream where suitable. We’ll talk about comfort at your consultation.
It depends on the treatment and on you. As a guide, anti-wrinkle results usually last around three to four months, and lip and dermal fillers can last six to twelve months. I’ll give you a personal estimate at your consultation.
Most people return to their normal day straight away. You may have mild redness, swelling or bruising for a few days, and I’ll give you written aftercare advice.
Treatments are for adults aged 18 and over. Some medical conditions, medicines and pregnancy or breastfeeding may mean a treatment isn’t suitable, which we’ll check at your consultation.
